Sooooo on May 4th, Brianna and I got to go on a hot air balloon ride! We went with our little cancer buddy Reese, her mom, Lisa, and her older brother, Dylan. And let me tell you, if it's not on your bucket list already, it should be! It's always been something Brianna and I have dreamed of doing one day far off in the future, but never thought would happen so soon.
It all started with our logo... As you know, it just so happens to be a hot air balloon. So our friend Lisa, Reese's mom, decided she wanted to see if she could get us on one. She was very successful! It was probably one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. What is more cool than standing in a giant basket that is floating in the sky?!
There is no way to steer or direct the balloon and you just kind of float to wherever the wind takes you. And of course, it floated in one of the most beautiful directions - one they said hadn't happened for a year or so. It reminded us a lot about our "It's not about the destination it's about the adventure" shirt, because that's really what it was like. Just enjoying the experience and the moment and not knowing where you will end up. That was how starting this 'Catch Some Air' t-shirt business has been throughout the whole process. We didn't know what we were doing or where this would take us, but we kept going and enjoyed all the experiences we have had through it, and we've loved every minute of it (well, almost every minute...those taxes are confusing and chemo isn't the best).
A BIG thank you to Lisa Baker, Cathi Whiting, and Tim and Erin from Sky Drifters Hot Air Balloon Adventures for making one of our dreams come true! Not only was the ride epic, but the people we met during it were epic too (one of our favorite parts of all our adventures). This was definitely one of those times where were were absolutely blown away by the kindness towards us by friends as well as complete strangers. One of those moments that made us believe in the goodness of all humanity again. This adventure will be dear to hearts forever.
